OsteoArt, in cooperation with the special hospital for medical rehabilitation Daruvarske toplice, conducted research on the effectiveness of the OsteoArt method in the treatment of non-specific low back pain.
The aim of the study was to establish changes in lumbar spine mobility, pain intensity and quality of life before and after continuous application of the OsteoArt method for 8 months.
In a prospective longitudinal clinical trial on a total of 24 patients, the OsteoArt method was performed on 3 occasions of 7 days over 8 months on the lumbar and sacral region.
Before and after each treatment, sagittal mobility index (ISG), Tomayer’s measure (TM), bilateral lateroflexion were measured, and subjects completed questionnaires EQ-5D-5L, Roland Morris (RM), and visual analog scale (VAS) pain.
The dependent t-test or Wilcoxon Signed Rank test depending on the distribution of data was used for the analysis. Alpha error was set to <0.05 for all variables. The presented results show a significant improvement in mobility and reduction of lumbosacral spine pain and a partial improvement in quality of life after treatment. No significant skin reactions were also observed.
The OsteoArt method is an effective way to reduce the symptoms of nonspecific low back pain and is recommended as a supportive therapy in the conservative treatment of nonspecific low back pain.
